creative, fun, adaptive

I work hard, fast, and outside of the box. I’m a multi-disciplinary creative (writer, producer, editor, director) with a multi-cultural lens (Cuban, Korean, Filipino, Queer, Trans, First-Generation American.) I love collaborating, and having fun while doing it. Let’s make something cool!

Ash Perez (Pepperdine University) is a tv writer, author, and entertainer living in Los Angeles, CA. If you were chronically online in the early 2010s you may recognize him from his time at BuzzFeed. More recently he produced and starred in "New Guy Tries" for 2nd Try (formerly The Try Guys) which catalogues his experience discovering masculinity as a trans man. Ash lost his father in 2020 to COVID-19 and has publicly shared his journey with his grief in hopes of connecting with others. He has written for ABC’s “Home Economics,” Freeform’s “Good Trouble,” and developed two episodes of an original comedy about his parents meeting while working at a hospital called “The Youngest One” with ABC. He published “Read This For Inspiration” with Clarkson Potter, and is currently in casting for an original rom-com he wrote and will co-direct for Simon + Schuster Audio called “Speak Now,” releasing in Spring 2026.

During the summers he volunteers as a camp counselor for Experience Camps, a grief camp for kids who have lost a parent, sibling, or caretaker. He enjoys film photography, traveling, painting, rock climbing, boxing, swimming, the WNBA, Pokèmon, typography, and pop culture. He has two cats: Cacio + Pepe.
